CLEAN ENERGY

Bexley is battling the standards of renewable-energy. In May of 2013, one Bexley resident tried to talk to the Ohio Senate Public Utilities Committee to take initiative and ensure she will always be living in a clean and healthy environment only to be shut down. The Ohio Senate Public Utilities Committee responded with “Revising clean-energy rules might wait till fall.” David Greene, an advocate for Columbus, also made a claim about the benefits of clean energy. Ohio has benefited from thousands of jobs in the energy-efficiency sector while saving money- every one dollar spent on energy efficiency saves rate payers three dollars on their utility bills. However, the legislature of Ohio has not acted in ways that show their support for clean energy. Kasich has taken $1.4 billion from local-government funding, forcing communities across the state to seek local tax increases. Because of this, some Columbus cities cannot keep up with the new policies and are struggling to remain a clean, healthy, and environmentally friendly place.[1]
